Welcome to Wilderness Treatment Australia
Wilderness Treatment Australia Foundation was established in 2010. We are a non profit organisation based in Sydney, Australia. Please note that our programs are not in operation yet. We are in the process of establishing "The Hero's Journey", a wilderness therapy program for teenagers between the ages 13 and 17.
Today's teenagers are exposed to an environment and society where peer pressure, drugs, violence, sex and money are the forces that affect both behaviour and perception of life. They can become dissociated from the consequences of their behaviour. Wilderness Treatment Australia Foundation is in the process of establishing a number of wilderness therapy programs to address the gap in teenage behaviour correction, rehabilitation and prevention.
We need your support to establish our programs. You can donate by following the link below. Wilderness Treatment Australia Foundation obtained Deductable Gift Recipient (DGR) status from the Australian Taxation office in 2010 and we will issue a tax receipt for donations with a thank you letter within two weeks of receiving your donation.

*** STOP PRESS *** The Hero's Journey
After two years of rigorous and detailed planning, Wilderness Treatment Australia Foundation is delighted to announce that The Hero's Journey youth program is now open for enrolment for troubled boys in NSW between the ages of 15 and 17.
Commencing late December 2013, our inaugural 20 day program invites boys who are struggling with self-esteem or social isolation, or who are failing academically due to defiance, depression or substance dependency, to enrol in this program now.
Participants will be supported by psychologists and experts in outdoor recreation as they are presented daily with high impact, adventure-based therapeutic challenges based on our innovative clinical model.
The program aims to assist troubled teens to:
- gain self-awareness;
- manage personal responsibility;
- build a sense of community and
- develop a positive outlook on life.
The program will take place in some of the most beautiful and remote locations in NSW. The cost of the program is $10,000 per participant, some of which will be refunded by Medicare, with the remainder tax deductible.
As there are limited positions available, we encourage you to contact us at email@example.com for more information on how to join our wilderness treatment expedition.
